For the fourth consecutive day, below-zero temperatures were record-breaking in parts of St. Lawrence County as Star Lake had lows of 25 below zero last night, according to Weather Underground.
The previous record set in 2011 was 22 below at Wheeler-Sack International Airport in Fort Drum, which is the nearest National Weather Service recording station for the southern portion of the county including Star Lake and Gouverneur.
Several schools in the southern part of the County were delayed including Gouverneur where temperatures were reportedly 22 below zero this morning.
While still brutally cold in northern parts of the county, no records appear to have broken.
Temperatures in Canton and Ogdensburg were reported at 16 below, 12 below in Potsdam and 11 below in Massena, according to Weather Underground.
