Four students chosen to address Heuvelton Central graduation Friday

These four students will address their classmates at the graduation ceremony at Heuvelton Central School Friday.

HEUVELTON -- The 67th annual Heuvelton Central School graduation ceremony will take place on Friday, June 26, at 8 p.m. in the Poulton Auditorium. The program will open with a welcoming speech given by Racheal Cougler, senior class president. Following Cougler’s remarks this year’s honor addresses will be presented by the following students.

• Shelby Mack, the daughter of Kevin and Dawn Mack will give the first speech of the evening. Shelby is a member of the National Honor Society, the Whiz Quiz team and ENCORE. She has earned Varsity letters in cross – country, and track and field through a sports merger program with OFA. Shelby recently appeared on the WWNY Academic All-Star program, and she was one of Heuvelton Central’s student guests at the St. Lawrence School Board’s Honors Dinner. She is the recipient of a Horatio Alger Scholarship. Ms. Mack will continue her education at the SUNY's University at Albany next Fall.

• Amber Williams, the daughter of John and Brenda Meunier will also have an opportunity to address her classmates during the ceremony. Amber is also a National Honor Society member, a Spanish Club member, and has participated on the Whiz Quiz Team. She has served as a class officer and has received Perfect Attendance awards for grades nine through eleven. Amber will be attending Albany College of Pharmacy where she will pursue a degree in pharmacy.

• Heather Thompson, the daughter of Terry and Martha Thompson will present the final speech of the program. Heather has been an active member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Whiz Quiz, Mock Trial, and Art Club. She has also served as class secretary for four years and as a member of the varsity lacrosse team. She is the recipient of a Horatio Alger Foundation Scholarship. Heather has chosen to attend St. Lawrence University next year where she has been named an Augsbury North Country Scholar and she will major in Environmental Science.
