POTSDAM -- This summer, four Potsdam Central students will attend 4-H Camp Overlook near Malone.
Third graders Ava and Cheyenne Goodspeed, fifth grader Lola Buckley, and eighth grader Preston Cook were selected for the honor by displaying positive character traits throughout the school year.
The 4-H Camp Scholarship Fund was established in 2005 in memory and honor of PCS student Dalton Guyette.
Thanks to the generous donations of Potsdam Central School staff, the Potsdam Lions Club and local community members, four Potsdam Central students have been awarded scholarships to attend Camp Overlook in each of the past 12 years. All enjoyed a week filled with fun and learning surrounded by beauty of the Adirondacks. The Lawrence Avenue Camp Scholarship Committee is expressing its gratitude to all who have contributed to this fund over the years.
Including this year’s recipients, over 50 students have been given this special opportunity. The committee is asking people to consider joining the effort to send some very deserving children in our community to camp.
Those who would like to contribute may write a check payable to the 4-H Scholarship Fund and mail it to Rena Caruso, PO Box 855, Potsdam, NY 13676.
