Four people injured in three separate accidents Tuesday in Waddington, Madrid and Norfolk

Four people were injured in three separate motor vehicle accidents Tuesday in Waddington, Madrid and Norfolk, including a motorcycle/SUV accident that sent two to the hospital.

• St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies report two people were injured as the result of a motorcylce/SUV accident at 7:02 p.m. Tuesday on State Rt. 37, Waddington. Deputies say Jason Hicks, 36, Waddington, was operating his motorcycle on Rt. 37 when he failed to see that traffic had reduced speed for a road construction site. His cycle struck the rear of an SUV operated by Danee Bolster, 37, Massena. Hicks was transported by Waddington Rescue to Massena Memorial Hospital for numerous abrasions. His passenger, Kristin Ashley, 36, Waddington, was treated for a fractured collar bone. Hicks was issued a ticket for following too closely and operating out of class, which he will answer in Waddington Town Court at a later date. Deputies wee assisted on the scene by Waddington Fire and state police.

• Deputies report one person was injured as the result of a two-car accident at the intersection of County Rt. 44 and Chase Mills Road at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday in Madrid. Deputies say John W. Bero, 70, Chase Mills, was driving on the Chase Mills Road when he stopped at a stop sign at County Rt. 44 and failed to see a car driven by Michelle Fobare, 36, Waddington. Bero reportedly pulled out in front of Fobare's vehicle causing the crash. Fobare was treated at Massena Memorial Hospital for a foot injury. Kenneth Tassie, 40, a passenger in Bero's vehicle, was uninjured. Bero was issued a ticket for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign. He will answer the charge in Madrid Town Court at a later date. Deputies were assisted on the scene by Madrid Fire and Rescue.

• State police report one person was injured as the result of a one-vehicle accident at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday on State Rt. 56 near State Rt. 310 in Norfolk. The driver of the vehicle was Thomas J. Plumb, 19, Norwood.
