POTSDAM – Four people including a two-year-old girl were reported hurt in a two-vehicle accident at US 11 and Cty. Rt. 35 Sunday evening,.

St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies said that the most seriously injured person, 57-year-old Kim Hayes of 327 Cty. Rt. 59, Potsdam, was initially treated at Canton-Potsdam Hospital for several injuries before being taken to Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington.

Also treated at Canton-Potsdam Hospital were the driver of one vehicle, Jordan M. Rt. 59, Potsdam, treated for a leg injury and released; and passenger Abigail Hayes, 2, of Judson Street Road, Canton, treated for minor injuries and released.

Deputies said Bonno, driving a 2006 Chevrolet, failed to stop at the stop sign and entered Rt. 11 , striking a 2010 Honda driven by Hayes. The Honda left the road, ending up in the yard at 5 Wright Road.

The Bonno vehicle struck a snow bank and overturned, coming to rest upright.

Bonno was given tickets charging failure to stop at a stop sign and driving while ability impaired by drugs.

The investigation continues, and more charges are pending, deputies said.

Assisting at the scene were Potsdam fire and rescue units, Canton Rescue, West Potsdam first responders, and state police.
