CANTON – St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies arrested four people, including two county jail inmates, Friday after an investigation into marijuana smuggling into the jail on Nov. 9.

Wendy M. Dalton, 31, Norwood, was charged with second-degree promoting prison contraband. Kimberly J. Ling, 35, Potsdam, Corey J. Printup, 31, county jail, and Cory R. Harrison, 26, county jail, were all charged with second-degree promoting prison contraband and sixth-degree conspiracy.

According to deputies, on the morning of Nov. 9, Dalton appeared at the bail/property window at the county jail with a package intended for inmate Harrison. The corrections officer reportedly immediately noticed a suspicious odor coming from the package, and after opening it, found four balloons containing marijuana.

Deputies say the package was given to Dalton by Ling, to be delivered after Ling had an earlier conversation with inmate Printup.

Dalton will appear on Nov. 22 in Canton Village Court to be arraigned on the charge.

Ling, Printup and Harrison will also appear in court at a later date.
