POTSDAM -- Four people from Ogdensburg were captured this morning after they allegedly left the Potsdam Price Chopper with hundreds of dollars in groceries they hadn't paid for.

Potsdam Police received a call just before midnight last night that a woman had left the store on Market Street with a cart full of merchandise. Two other people reportedly helped her put the items in a vehicle before leaving.

Potsdam police said the suspect vehicle was found on St. Rt. 68 in Canton and four suspects were taken into custody.

Taken back to the Potsdam police station and charged with petit larceny and sixth-degree conspiracy were Sierra R. Herbick, 23, John R. Lajoy, Jr., 25, Lawrence B. Grenier, 34, and Christopher A. Teriele, 19, all of Ogdensburg.

They were all arraigned before Village Justice Pignone and released under supervision.

Police put the value of the stolen merchandise at $558.60.
