STOCKHOLM -- State police have identified four people from one family who perished in a Stockholm fire Dec. 19 on Pickle Street.
The deceased are William M Bugbee, 55, Allazza L Bugbee, 5, Alicia N. Bugbee, 6, and Shaylee L. Baxter, 14.
A fifth occupant, Carrie L Bugbee, 36, was able to escape from the house and survived. She was transported to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital for evaluation.
Saint Lawrence County Coroner June Wood responded and authorized removal of the bodies to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where autopsies will be conducted.
At around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning, St. Lawrence County 911 dispatched Brasher-Winthrop, Potsdam, West Stockholm, Norwood and Norfolk fire departments, along with Tri-Town Rescue.
The residence was a trailer with additions attached to it, according to Brasher-Winthrop Fire Department First Assistant Chief Ryan McCuin.
McCuin said the house was on fire on all four sides of the residence and the home is considered a total loss.
Mrs. Bugbee allegedly escaped from a window.
The blaze was discovered and called in by a neighbor, McCuin said.
The cause and origin of this fire remain under investigation.
Wood and state fire investigators are still on the scene.
