OGDENSBURG -- Fort La Presentation will recognize Chuck Kelly, Marsha Hough and Wayne Ramsey for their dedication to Ogdensburg and the fort at the Fort Association’s Fall Social.

Kelly will receive the Persis Yates Boyesen Award, presented to “individuals or organizations that have made outstanding contributions to sponsor the historically accurate reconstruction and ongoing presence of Fort La Presentation,” fort officials said. Kelly is the previous editor and general manager for the Ogdensburg Journal and Advance, and a longtime supporter of the association’s efforts.

Hough will get the David L. Dickinson Award for “her years of volunteering, commitment and dedication to the fort and the association,” fort officials said. She and her husband Jim, who died in 2014, have been committed to the Fort La Presentation project for more than a decade, said a prepared statement from fort officials.

Ramsey will receive special recognition for his service to the fort association’s events for numerous years. He works in the technology department for the Ogdensburg City School District.

The event will be on Friday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Sherman Inn, 615 Franklin St.

It will include a large silent auction, with items old and new, gift certificates and handmade items. Donations are sought.

The event is open to the public and members of the association. Tickets to the event are $20 and can be purchased at the Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce, online at www.fort1749.org, or by contacting Barb O’Keefe at fort1749@yahoo.com or 394-1749.
