Ogdensburg's Fort la Presentation Association French and Indian War essay contest seeks entries

The Fort la Presentation Association is seeking entrants for a students essay contest on the French and Indian War.

Essay entries will be divided into two divisions; grades four through eight and ninth through 12th grade.

Entries for the fourth grade division should be approximately 250-300 words and should consist of a journal entry where the student assumes the role of someone living during the French and Indian War.

Entries for the ninth grade division should be 300 to 500 words and should describe events surrounding the war, or assume the role of someone living during the war. Research papers should include three to five sources.

First prize winners will receive $50, with second and third prize to receive $25 each.

The contest is open to St. Lawrence County students.

All essays should be postmarked by June 30 to Fort la Presentation Association, PO Box 1749, Ogdensburg, NY 13669, attention Julie Madlin.
