FT. COVINGTON -- A Fort Covington woman is charged with stabbing her boyfriend during an argument.
Joan F. Terrel, 64, is charged with first-degree assault and is being held on $10,00 cash bail or $20,000 bail bond.
Shortly after midnight Tuesday morning, state police were dispatched to 2556 Chateaugay St. to assist the Fort Covington EMS with a man who reportedly had fallen out of bed.
Wayne J. Henault, 64, was found with a small puncture wound to his back and was taken to Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone for treatment.
It was then discovered that the wound resulted from being stabbed and Henault was taken for emergency surgery, according to police.
Troopers charge that Henault and Terrel, his live-in girlfriend, were involved in a dispute when Terrel stabbed him with a knife.
Terrel was arraigned before Fort Covington Town Justice Almond and remanded to the custody of the Franklin County Sheriff in lieu of bail.
