OGDENSBURG -- Former St. Lawrence County legislator and Democrat Vernon 'Sam' Burns will likely announce his candidacy for mayor tonight at city hall.
Burns issued invitations to the event earlier this week, but did not include his intent.
However, it has been widely speculated that he will be challenging city councilor and Republican Wayne Ashley for the mayor's seat.
Burns has also had signs (above) popping up throughout the city, although they do not include his name, they have been confirmed to be his signs.
