The former managing editor of the Daily-Courier Observer will be joining Assemblywoman Addie J. Russell’s staff this week.
Ryne R. Martin, who was managing editor of the Daily Courier-Observer from its inaugural edition in May 1989 until December 2015, is her new communications coordinator.
Martin had previously worked as editor of the Massena Observer, county editor for newspapers in Ogdensburg, Massena, Potsdam, and Canton and in the newsroom at WMSA Radio, Massena.
He is a graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Syracuse.
Martin and his wife, Christine A. Compo-Martin, have two children, Jonathan G. Jadlos, Philadelphia, Pa., and Emma L. Martin, Manhattan.
Martin was among several longtime Johnson Newspapers editorial and sports staff who lost their jobs in early December as part of what the company called a “restructuring.”
