CANTON – A former St. Lawrence County planning board member has been arrested for felony pot possession following an investigation into the discovery of 34 marijuana plants on his Macomb property back in August.
St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies charged David B. Duff, 64, of 64 S. Woods Rd., Macomb, with first-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class C felony.
Deputies allege that during the month of August, Duff possessed approximately 34 pot plants weighing over 10 pounds. The plants were found growing on Duff’s property by members of the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, New York State Police, Vermont Air National Guard and the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
Duff was arraigned before Judge Galvin in Canton Village Court and released on his own recognizance.
The case is to be held over for future grand jury action, deputies report.
