A 47-year-old from Kingston, Ont. got lost on a trail near the Cranberry Lake Campground.
"A Forest Ranger responded by boat and patrolled the shoreline near the campground until he located the woman," according to the DEC.
They said she was brought back to her vehicle unharmed.
The DEC advises people to be properly prepared and plan their route before going into backcountry areas.
