Forecast: wind chill values to be below zero through Monday in St. Lawrence County

An upper level trough is moving across the St. Lawrence Valley today and is bringing with it the potential for snow showers along with cold temps, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

There is a 30 percent chance of snow showers today with a high near 14, NWS says. Wind chill values will be as low as -3 with northwest winds 5 to 10 mph.

The overnight low will be around -1 with wind chill values near -10, the service says.

Another system passes to the north on Monday for a slight chance of snow showers, mainly along the northern and western borders, NWS says.

Monday will see a 40 percent chance of snow showers, mainly after 1 p.m. with a high near 23 and wind chill values of -13, NWS says.

Another low pressure system moves into the region Tuesday through Wednesday. This system will bring snow on Tuesday before switching to a mix with some sleet before changing to rain late Tuesday night in Wednesday.

The forecast through next weekend is as follows:

Monday

A 40 percent chance of snow showers, mainly after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 23. Wind chill values as low as -13. South wind 7 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Monday Night

A 30 percent chance of snow showers before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 18. Southwest wind 8 to 14 mph. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tuesday

Snow showers likely, mainly after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 35. South wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Tuesday Night

Rain and snow before 10pm, then rain, snow, and sleet between 10pm and 11pm, then rain after 11pm. Low around 33. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Wednesday

Rain likely, mainly before 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Southwest wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light south after midnight.

Thursday

A 50 percent chance of rain after 9am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45. Light southeast wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the morning.
