The combination of a warm front shifting through St. Lawrence County today, and a cold front following on Sunday will bring several rounds of showers and thunderstorms over the next few days with increasing humidity through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Rain could be heavy at times today with a high near 70, NWS says. The chance of rain is 100 percent.
There will be occasional showers and thunderstorms tonight, mainly before 2 a.m. with heavy rainfall possible, the service says. The low will be around 66.
Friday will see a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms that again could produce heavy rainfall, NWS says. Temps will be warmer with highs near 80.
Locally heavy rain is possible through Saturday, with increasing potential for
isolated flash flooding.
Drier weather returns for Monday and Independence day.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 4pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Southwest wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Friday Night
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. Southwest wind 5 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Saturday
A chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 11am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. South wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
