Warmer temperatures in the single digits to teens are expected today in St. Lawrence County along with some scattered snow showers as an upper level disturbance glances the international border, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Below zero temps will be felt across the region early today before the high climbs above zero, forecasters say. Wind chill values as low as -20 are possible.
There is a 60 percent chance of snow showers with around an inch of accumulation possible, the service says.
NWS says an overnight low of 8 degrees is likely with wind chill values as low as -5.
High pressure builds back into the region for Wednesday along with closer to normal temperatures in the upper teens to lower 20s.
Coastal low pressure remains on track to bring some light snow to portions of the forecast area Thursday and Thursday night, followed by another surge of arctic air for Friday and Saturday with dangerously cold wind chills likely.
The forecast through Monday is as follows:
Wednesday
Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 19. Wind chill values as low as -3. South wind 7 to 14 mph.
Wednesday Night
A 40 percent chance of snow showers after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 7. Wind chill values as low as -3. South wind 5 to 9 mph. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Thursday
A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Cloudy, with a high near 17. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Thursday Night
A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around -10. Northwest wind 9 to 11 mph.
Friday
A 30 percent chance of snow showers. Cloudy and cold, with a high near -7. West wind around 11 mph.

Mostly cloudy, with a low around -21. West wind 9 to 11 mph.
