A ridge of high pressure aloft will be over the North Country today and early tonight, with high temperatures topping out around 84 with sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Although today’s highs will be unusual for this time of year, they likely will not break any records.

The record high for April 27 in St. Lawrence County is 89 degrees and took place in 1990.

There is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after midnight, with an overnight low around 56, NWS says.

Friday will see a high around 67 with a chance of showers Friday morning, but skies will become mostly sunny by Friday afternoon, the service says.
