Skies will be cloudy today and tonight across St. Lawrence County with an upper trough moving east from the Great Lakes bringing a chance for rain and snow showers tonight and Thursday, according to the National Weather service (NWS).

The high today will be near 25 with southwest winds of 8 to 11 mph, the service says. There is a 40 percent chance of snow tonight with a low around 30. Total overnight accumulation will be less than one inch.

Snow showers are likely Thursday, mainly after 9 a.m. with a high near 36, NWS says. Wind gusts could reach 25 mph with total snowfall accumulation around one to three inches.

Snow showers are possible Thursday night, mainly before 8 p.m. with an overnight low expected around 27 with wind gusts around 30 mph, the service says.

The North Country will remain under cyclonic flow through this weekend, with colder air over the region and a chance of snow showers from Friday through this weekend, NWS says.
