Forecast: Dry with temps in 40s today followed by 2-4 inches of snow Tuesday in St. Lawrence County

The week will start with dry conditions today, but unsettled weather returns early Tuesday as another low pressure system moving up the east coast will bring widespread precipitation through Tuesday evening, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Highs today ill be around 41 with calm wins and a 30 percent chance of snow showers, the service says. New snow accumulation of less than half an inch is possible.

Overnight the low will be near 32 with an 80 percent chance of another half inch of snow, forecaster say.

Expect 2-4 inches of snow Tuesday with a high near 34. Rain and snow will end as all snow Tuesday evening with drier conditions developing Tuesday night.

A reinforcing shot of cold air is expected behind this low pressure system, with temperatures well below average on Wednesday with gusty northwesterly winds.

Snow. High near 34. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Tuesday Night

A 40 percent chance of snow showers before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 18. West wind around 11 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wednesday

Mostly sunny, with a high near 28. West wind 10 to 14 mph.

Mostly clear, with a low around 13. West wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable.
