Cooler conditions and lingering showers in the higher elevations and near the Canadian border are expected for Wednesday after the passage of a cold front, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The high today will be around 52 degrees with southwest winds of 10 to 14 miles per hour, NWS says.

There is a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before midnight and then mostly cloudy with a low around 38, the service says.

Highs Thursday and Friday are expected to be in the mid-50s, NWS says.

Weather will become drier and quieter for the rest of the week before the next round precipitation moves into the region late Saturday into Sunday.

Temperatures will begin the gradual warm up back into the low 70s by Sunday.
