Forecast: colder air moving into St. Lawrence County today with below zero temps expected overnight

Colder air will be moving into St. Lawrence County today with high temperatures this morning and then falling throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Clouds will persist this morning along with a few mountain snow showers, but clearing will take place this afternoon with temperatures falling to around 16 by 5 p.m., NWS says. Winds will be west at 13 to 17 mph.

Tonight will be cold, with a low of -1 predicted 5 to 9 mph winds becoming calm after midnight, the service says.

High pressure builds down from Canada tonight and Saturday. This will bring below normal temperatures to the area through the entire weekend.

The forecast for Saturday calls for a high near 22 with wind chill values as low as -1 and calm winds. Saturday night will drop to around 17 with winds of 8 to 10 mph and gusts as high as 21 mph, NWS says.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 22. Wind chill values as low as -1. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. Southwest wind 8 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 23. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

Mostly clear, with a low around 11. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph after midnight.
