Forecast calls for prime weekend weather to hike in or get yard work done

Today will be another seasonably cool day that will start out sunny, but clouds will gather later in the day as an upper level weather system approaches St. Lawrence County, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs will reach 61 degrees today, forecasters say, with an overnight low of 44. Light rain showers are expected overnight and Saturday morning.

Saturday will be even cooler, with highs of 58 expected across the North Country.

High pressure builds back in Sunday and lasts through the middle of next week, bringingplenty of sunshine and a warming trend.

The forecast through the middle of the week is as follows:

Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 58. North wind around 8 mph.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 38. Light and variable wind.

Sunday

Sunny, with a high near 66. North wind 3 to 7 mph.

Mostly clear, with a low around 42. North wind around 5 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.

Monday

Sunny, with a high near 71. Calm wind.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 46. Light and variable wind.

Tuesday

Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. South wind 5 to 8 mph.
