STAR LAKE -- The Star Lake Food pantry recently received $1,000 and the Free Community Meal received $500 to help service the Clifton-Fine region, each from the Northern New York Community Foundation.
The foundation provides annual funding support to more than 20 food pantries and soup kitchens in St. Lawrence County each year.
The Star Lake Food Pantry receives a portion of this support to help serve approximately 400 families each month.
Also, the Free Community Meal program at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Star Lake provides full course meals to attendees every Wednesday.
The Community Foundation awards annual support to nearly 40 local food pantries and soup kitchens in St. Lawrence, Jefferson and Lewis counties affiliated with the Food Bank of Central New York.
