A weak low-pressure system will move into the St. Lawrence Valley through Wednesday with a few flurries and snow showers possible tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

Cold temperatures are expected the next couple days before warming up through the weekend with temperatures rising into the 30s on Friday.

Tonight will likely be cloudy with a 30 percent chance of snow showers most likely before midnight. Lows will dip down to 6 degrees with light and variable winds.

The service says Wednesday will see a high around 19 with winds at 10 mph and a slight chance of snow showers.

The forecast through Monday is as follows:

• Wednesday A 20 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 18. Wind chill values as low as zero. Light northeast wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

• Wednesday Night Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around -10. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.

• Thursday Sunny, with a high near 22. Light and variable wind becoming northeast around 6 mph in the morning.

• Thursday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 13. Light and variable wind becoming south around 6 mph after midnight.

• Friday Partly sunny, with a high near 35. Southwest wind 6 to 8 mph.

• Friday Night A 40 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

• Saturday Mostly sunny, with a high near 31. Northwest wind around 6 mph.

• Saturday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 12. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
