The St. Lawrence County Department of Public Health reports that influenza is on the rise in the county.
As of Monday, the department reported, seven confirmed cases of influenza have been tallied, while the number of cases in neighboring counties continues to rise.
The first case reported last week was that of a five-year-old who contracted flu type B, according to the department’s Prevent Services Supervisor Laurie B. Maki.
Two more cases were reported before the end of last week. By Monday, the total was seven cases.
