A flood watch is in effect for much of St. Lawrence County through Monday morning as widespread rain is expected to fall today possibly being heavy at times, according to the (NWS) National Weather Service.
Rainfall could total one to one and a half inches in places which ail add to the swollen rivers that are well above normal due to near record rainfall this month, the service says.
There is a 90 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms, mainly before 2 p.m., then showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., NWS says.
The high today will be chilly around 59 degrees.
More rain and thunderstorms are forecasted to tonight with a low of 53.
Monday will see a 40 percent chance of rain with highs near 68. Overnight lows Monday will be around 58, the service says.

A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. West wind 5 to 8 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Monday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 58. Southwest wind around 6 mph.
Tuesday
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly after 3pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 75. South wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tuesday Night
Occasional showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 63. South wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Wednesday
Showers likely, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. Southwest wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
