NORFOLK — Five fire departments tried to save a trailer from burning Thursday afternoon on Old Market Road but were unable to do so.
Norfolk Fire Department received word of the blaze at 3:49 p.m. and responded along with firefighters from Norwood, West Stockholm, Madrid and Louisville, according to Norfolk Fire Chief Richard Bump.
The fire at 420 Old Market Rd. completely destroyed the home which was occupied by at least one person, Bump said.
No one was home at the time of the fire, which was reported by a neighbor, he said.
About 25-30 firemen battled the blaze.
“Good job by all mutual aid responders,” Bump said.
No injuries were reported.
The cause remains under investigation, he said.
The trailer was reportedly not insured.
