Five charged after police raid Ogdensburg home, find 'large quantity' of crack

OGDENSBURG -- City police say five people are in custody after executing a search warrant at 500 New York Ave., Apt. 1, on Friday.

Police say they seized a “large quantity” of crack cocaine and an undisclosed sum of U.S. currency, shown in the above photo.

Det. Sgt. David Layng said he could not disclose the specific quantity of either, citing an ongoing investigation.

Those charged include:

Leonard B. Broughton, Jr., 36, 1019 East Fourth Street, Bethlehem, Penn. was charged with one count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felony. He was held in lockup pending arraignment, police said.

Candy S. Budd, 48, 500 New York Avenue, Apt. #1, Ogdensburg was charged with one count each of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and first-degree criminal nuisance, also a felony. She was held in lockup pending arraignment.

Santanna M. Budd, 21, 7775 State Highway 58, Hammond, NY, was charged with one count each of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, both misdemeanors.

Adrianna L. Compo, 21, 622 Lake Street, Ogdensburg, was charged with one count each of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.

Dylan C. Young, 28, 7775 State Highway 58, Hammond was charged with one count each of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.

Santanna Budd, Adrianna Compo and Dylan Young were released on appearance tickets to appear in Ogdensburg City Court on July 26 at 9 a.m.

The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department’s Drug Task Force, Gouverneur Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations assisted the Ogdensburg Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit in this investigation.
