MASSENA -- A group of first-time skiers hit the trails at the Robert Moses Nature Center with a free cross-country ski lesson.

John Barron, trip leader for the Laurentian Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) volunteered to teach the basics to the group. Skiers ranged in age, but all shared a desire to do something new and fun outdoors this winter.

The event kicks off March's events at the Nature Center under the Mind, Body, Soul - Come Alive! grant program. The grant provides free workshops and events to the community inspiring folks to get outdoors and learn something new. All upcoming programs are posted on the Nature Center's new website http://www.massenanaturecenter.org/.
