POTSDAM -- Mrs. Robin Lalonde's first grade students at Lawrence Avenue Elementary School in Potsdam recently visited the Potsdam Animal Shelter to deliver their gifts.
As an act of kindness, to go along with the Character Ed theme for December, students chose to buy "gifts" for animals at the shelter instead of gifts for each other.
Students toured the shelter, played with several cats, saw many dogs, played with 2 ferrets and fed treats to a pot-belly pig.
Students learned about the shelter and how to care for animals.
