First day of fall forecast: Sunny with temps in 80s; record-breaking highs possible Sunday and Monday in St. Lawrence County

High pressure continues to dominate into the middle of next week with hot weather likely while Hurricane Jose expected to remain southeast of the North Country, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Quiet and dry conditions continue through the weekend with some fog in the favored locations in the early mornings, NWS says.

Highs today will be near 81 with sunny skies and light winds, the service says. The overnight low will be around 58.

Temperatures will continue to be well above seasonal average with potential record highs over the weekend, the service says.

Saturday will see a high near 87 with mostly sunny skies and light winds. The overnight low is predicted to be near 65.

Sunny skies on Sunday will bring temps to near 90, forecasters say. Expect temps near 90 on Monday as well.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. West wind 5 to 7 mph.

Saturday Night

Mostly clear, with a low around 65. Southwest wind around 6 mph.

Sunday

Sunny, with a high near 89. Southwest wind around 6 mph.

Sunday Night

Mostly clear, with a low around 66. Southwest wind 3 to 5 mph.

Monday

Sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Mostly clear, with a low around 64. Calm wind.

Tuesday

Sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind.

Tuesday Night

Partly cloudy, with a low around 63. Light east wind.

Wednesday

Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Light and variable wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the morning.

Wednesday Night

A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. Southwest wind around 5 mph.
