NORFOLK -- The firematics competition that is part of the 117th Northern New York Firemen's Convention this weekend are scheduled for Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Norfolk near the site of the old grade school.
Right now rain looks more likely on Friday, but with the weather outlook calling for a more than even chance of rain Saturday, organizers have said that if it does rain, they will try again on Sunday at the same time.
Firematics is a tradition among volunteer firefighters, who test their skill at things like setting up a hose to douse a fire and getting a firefighter up a ladder on the run.
The convention this year is being hosted by the Norfolk and Potsdam Fire departments.
