BRASHER FALLS – A fire caused by smoking damaged a Rt. 11C home Thursday night.
The structure, owned by Lucien Plante, was occupied by three people. No injuries were reported.
Brasher-Winthrop volunteers and Tri-Town Rescue were called out just before 11 p.m. They were backed up by Helena and West Stockholm firefighters. The Brasher-Winthrop department was back in service by 12:36 this morning.
Investigators said the fire, at 805 State Rt. 11C was started by “improperly discarded smoking materials.”
Damage was minimal, they report.
