LAWRENCE -- A fire possibly caused by a pellet stove destroyed a garage and caused moderate damage to a house located at 200 Barnage Road early Thursday morning, according to St. Lawrence County Fire Investigators.
Fire officials said that it was a good save on the house with smoke and fire damage limited making the home salvageable.
Firefighters from The Brasher-Winthrop Fire Department along with the Tri-Town Rescue Squad responded to the blaze around 2 a.m.
Mutual aid was provided from West Stockholm, North Lawrence and Lawrenceville fire departments with firefighters from Potsdam and Helena on standby, officials said.
Four people live in the home reportedly owned by Robert Dow.
No injuries were reported.
The home is reportedly insured.
