OGDENSBURG -- Two Ogdensburg residents face multiple felony drug charges after a fire investigation uncovered pot and mushrooms in a Caroline Street apartment.

Arthur P. Baker III, 20, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for processing with intent to sell and criminal possession of a controlled substance for possessing hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Taylor M. Amo, 18, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, and criminal possession of a controlled substance for possessing hydrocodone pills.

Ogdensburg city police charged the pair after executing a search warrant.

Ogdensburg police said the drugs were discovered during a fire investigation stemming from an incident that occurred June 24. While investigating the fire, drugs were spotted by fire investigators who serve on the police force. Police then secured a search warrant to do a legal search of the home.

When executing the search warrant detectives located two pounds of marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms and concentrated cannabis, commonly known as hash.

Detectives also reported finding various drug paraphernalia, packaging materials and more than $5,000 in cash.
