BIGELOW -- A fire destoyed a small engine, ATV and repair shop around noon today, according to the Richville Fire Department. The cause is under investigation, according to a news release from St. Lawrence County 911 dispatch.
Firefighters were dispatched to the property owned by Jeff Stinson at 365 County Rte. 20 and the property is a total loss.
"Firefighters from Richville, DeKalb, Gouverneur and Hermon were successful in keeping the fire to spreading to the office and tool area of the shop and to the nearby residence only 30 feet away," and email from Joe Lacks of the Gouverneur Fire Department says. "Damage included Mr. Stinson's personal racing snowmobiles and at least 2 other atv's that belonged to customers."
No injuries were reported and Stinson is insured, the 911 dispatch statement says.
