COLTON — A family who planned to move into their new home this weekend will not be able to do that following a fire this morning on Orebed Road.
Pierrepont Fire Chief Timothy Green said a call came at 5:11 a.m. from a neighbor who reported seeing flames coming from the backside of the 828 Orebed Rd. residence.
No one was inside the home at the time of the fire, Green said.
Green said the house is a total loss following damage from the fire, smoke and water. It took firefighters about 15 minutes to get the fire under control.
The home was owned by Rudolph Brothers Jr.
No injuries were reported.
Investigators were working to find the cause of blaze, Green said.
Pierrepont firefighters battled the fire along with Colton and Hannawa Falls firemen, Green said. The Canton Fire Department was on standby for Pierrepont.
It was not known if the house was insured.
