FINE – A man from Fine was severely injured early Sunday when, as he lay in the road, he was struck by a vehicle driven by another Fine man.
State police were not immediately available to explain why Brown may have been in the road.
State police said Ian B. Brown, 36, of Oswegatchie Trail Road, was taken to Clifton-Fine Hospital in critical condition with multiple injuries before he was transferred to Upstate Medical University Hospital in Syracuse.
Today Brown says he was walking home when he was hit. He is not doing too badly, he says, and might be out of the hospital in a couple of days. He says he sustained broken bones, lacerations and bruises.
Gregory A. Peabody, 53, Oswegatchie Trail Road, told troopers he was northbound on Oswegatchie Trail Road shortly after midnight Saturday night when he came upon Ian. B. Brown, 36, also of Oswegatchie Trail Road, lying in the road, and unsuccessfully tried to avoid hitting him.
