MADRID -- The community can hear from who is now the sole finalist for the Madrid-Waddington Central School District superintendent post.
Eric S. Burke is now the only contender for the post.
His competition, Michael A. Retzlaff, recently withdrew from consideration, according to a news release from MWCS.
Burke is the grade six to 12 principal at Madrid-Waddington. He has previously worked as the grade 5 to 12 principal at Lisbon Central from 2007 to 2014 and as Ogdensburg Free Academy assistant principal from 2006 to 2007.
He is scheduled for a public session and final interview on Jan. 7 at 6 p.m. at the MWCS high school library.
He will give a 20-minute presentation, followed by a question-and-answer period.
Following the meeting, the Board of Education can decide to either hire him or seek additional candidates.
