COLTON -- Fifty-two runners and walkers navigated the two-mile fun Saturday in the Town of Colton.
The event helped raise funds for scoreboards for the Colton-Pierrepont Central School athletic fields and will benefit other area schools.
The fastest finish of the day was by 12-year-old John Guiney, a seventh grader attending Parishville-Hopkinton Central School, with a time of 13 minutes 24 seconds. In all six schools were represented.
Participants enjoyed music presented by Peter Edwards of the CPCS Booster Club. The Tourism and Beautification Committee and the Colton Volunteer Fire Department provided support services. The event was organized by Kevin Lamora in support of recreation in Colton.
Many raffle prizes supplied by area merchants were awarded at the conclusion of the event.
