POTSDAM —SUNY Potsdam students participated in the athletic department’s fifth annual Leaf-Raking Week from Nov. 5 to 12.
Over the course of the week, Bears athletes raked 20 residential sites for people in need as well as the Bayside and Garfield Cemeteries.
The students combined to put in over 24 hours of raking.
“I have received many phone calls and emails thanking us for the service, especially the ones we have been returning to over the past five years,” said Potsdam Senior Women’s Administrator Lauren Bruce.
“They’re very appreciative that our teams are available at this time of year to help them clean up around their homes. We’re happy to do it and very grateful for the cider and other treats that residents have offered us while we’re there.”
Leaf raking is just one of many ways the Bears wish to contribute the local community each school year.
