POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Neighborhood Center is taking orders for the February Food Sense program.
Food Sense is a food purchasing cooperative program where customers can buy a package worth $25 to $30 for $15.50. There is a different package each month and there are additional items that can be added.
The February the package is chicken nuggets (2 lbs.), Polish sausage (1 lb. ), pollock fillets (12 oz.), Salisbury steaks (12 oz.), tuna fish (5 oz.), pierogies (13 oz.), mashed potatoes (10 oz.), mixed vegetables (1 lb.), canned corn (14.5 oz.), mandarin oranges (11 oz.), and two fresh produce items.
Call the Neighborhood Center at 265-3920 for the add-on items and to place your order before Feb. 9. Pick up your package on Feb 23 between 10:30 a.m. and noon or 1 and 3 p.m.
The Food Sense program is offered to all who wishes to stretch their food budget.
Anyone who receives SNAP or Food Stamps is encouraged to use them to purchase a Food Sense package.
