FC Freeze U-12 girls ended their summer season by taking home the Northern New York Soccer League 2013 championship trophy.

The Freeze girls played two 30 minute games Saturday to become playoff champions.

In their first game of the day, the team took on Northern Oswego Soccer Club (NOSC).

Canton’s Delaney Hayes playing fullback started the scoring by firing a direct kick hard in the top of the net.

With one minute remaining in the first half, Parishville players hooked up for a score. Fullback Brooke Hayes made a killer pass to striker Anourine Pullano, who blasted the ball into the net.

At the half FC Freeze led 2-0.

Hayes also started the second half scoring by once again slamming a direct kick into the net. Olivia Mace (Ohio), Rylee Dennis (Maitland), Katie Cowen (Potsdam) and Sophia Janoyan (Potsdam) kept pressure on NOSC keeper who was credited with four saves.

During the game Ogdensburg’s Natalie McCormick made one save for the Freeze. The final score was 3-0.

In the playoff finals FC Freeze took on tournament host Indian River United Soccer Club Team 1. The game was a crowd pleaser.

FC Freeze kept their opponent’s goalie on her toes. Hayes fired a direct kick and IRUSC keeper made a good save. Not long after Janoyan took a shot on goal. McCormick then made two saves. Pullano then took a shot saved by their keeper. At half time there was no score.

In the second half IRUSC mistakenly left Hayes unmarked. She settled the ball and crushed it high in the net for FC’s first goal.

Within one minute IRUSC had a breakaway and tied the game up. FC’s midfielder Dennis headed to the bench with a foot injury. Mace had a strong shot on goal. Dennis came back into the game and with five minutes left in the game she demonstrated her ball skills, dribbling through traffic and booting the ball into the back of the net.

IRUSC had one last shot on goal but Brooke Hayes made a nice save to seal the win. The finals score was 2-1. In the contest FC Freeze outshot their opponent 6-4.
