HOPKINTON – A family dog was killed but the three people living in a Hopkinton home escaped injury as the house was destroyed by fire Wednesday afternoon.
The house, at 184 Days Mills Rd., was owned and occupied by Tim and Penny Arquitt. They reportedly have insurance.
The Nicholville Fire Department and Tri-Town Rescue responded to the alarm at 2:46 p.m. They were aided at the scene by volunteers from Hopkinton-Ft. Jackson, Lawrenceville, North Lawrence. Parishville, St. Regis Falls, and Dickenson fire departments; elements of the Parishville Fire Departments were on standby.
Fire investigators are still looking into the cause of the blaze.
