OGDENSBURG -- Citing a “critical shortage” of volunteer drivers in Massena, Ogdensburg and Potsdam, Disabled American Veterans are seeking drivers.

The shortage may lead to many veterans not being able to get the medical care they need, a press release from DAV said.

With so many disabled Veterans living on fixed incomes, travel costs often give way to shelter and food, the DAV release said.

People who wish to volunteer a few days each month are encouraged to seek more information. Contact info: Massena, Arlene Soulier, 315-263-0424; Ogdensburg, Chickie George, 315-323-0342; Potsdam, Amy Gardner, 315-706-9371.
