Things will be pretty calm today, but the National Weather Service has posted a winter weather advisory warning of snow and mixed precipitation tomorrow and Friday. The advisory will be in effect from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow.

Three to six inches of snow are possible, and maybe a tenth of an inch of ice in some parts of the St. Lawrence River valley. Most of the precipitation is expected to come in the late morning and early afternoon. And the NWS says rain and snow showers could redevelop Friday.

The forecasters say today, high pressure will provide the North Country with dry conditions, colder temperatures, and mostly cloudy skies today with light east winds.

Tonight, the chance of snow increases to about 40 percent, with perhaps a half an inch by morning.

Snow and sleet are expected Thursday -- the chance is put at 100 percent -- turning to sleet and then freezing rain by late afternoon, accumulating to perhaps as much as three inches.

Then precipitation is expected to diminish Thursday night before another round of mixed precipitation arrives on Friday.
