OGDENSBURG -- An “Elf on the Shelf” kit is available at the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Gift Shop and comes with a hard cover children’s storybook and a pixie elf.
The elf is a tool for parents to try and encourage good behavior in their children. The small pixie elf arrives at one's home, usually at Thanksgiving, with the sole responsibility to watch children’s behavior and report to Santa at the North Pole each night. The next morning after the children awake, they discover the elf has returned and is now in a new and different place somewhere in the house.
