The E.J. Noble Guild has pledged $100,000 over a five year period to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Foundation’s “Constructing Healthier Communities” capital campaign, in support of the new Noble Annex and connector in Canton, and the new Center for Cancer Care at the hospital in Potsdam.
This year the Guild has also given about $18,000 for needed equipment in the Outpatient Physical Therapy Department in Canton, and in the hospital’s Emergency Department.
In addition, the Guild has provided nearly $5,000 in “mini grants” for smaller projects at the hospital.
The Noble Guild also sponsors two SUNY Canton nursing scholarships annually.
The Guild raised $16,250 from their Las Vegas themed dinner dance and auction in June at St. Lawrence University.
Other fundraising events include the Holly Berry Bazaar, the soup luncheon at the Canton Methodist Church during Canton’s Winterfest, and a golf tournament co-sponsored with the Potsdam Hospital Guild. There is a membership drive in the fall.
The E.J. Noble Guild was established in 1951 and has enjoyed 60 years of successful fundraising and community outreach.
All proceeds from Guild activities benefit the hospital and the patients served there.
